Aint technology wonderful!

And Lubags if that is you, do your local photographer a favour and wear a brighter T shirt! Whites and blacks and greys are no good, a nice bright blue or green would really add a bit of pow to the shot.

Unless Gustav is a good photoshopper!

Well, this is as close as I can get from the top of Tranquilitas (until I can afford my next bigger thing!), would be nice to know who it was? Looked like a Black Diamond Half Dome helmet...

No special current relevance. Was just going through and scanning some of my old slides. Found this one and kinda liked it so posted it. I was employed as a sherpa for the shoot - humped some heavy packs up and down Wolfberg! Don't think the film was ever shown here and unfortunately I don't have a copy.

I also have a couple of pics looking down on Siula Grande (Joe's nemesis) and the glacier down which he crawled taken from across the way on Yerupaja. Might post them if anyone's interested.

It was one of six short films shown on the BBC as part of a 1998 series called "The Face". As far as I can recall it had some sport climbing in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam and big walling in Cirque of the Unclimbables in Canada, and some others. It was pretty good viewing at the time, but I think would look pretty dated now. I know they have a copy on VHS in our local library (I don't have a VCR anymore though!) but no idea if it was ever released on DVD, might be worth looking on Amazon ebay etc if you want to see it. It might be available as a Torrent, but I'm not exactly sure what that is or indeed how you get hold of one. Something to do with seeds?

Also one of my first climbs of the Millenium!

Spectacular place that. Not so hard is Energy Supplement (17). Kwality exposure on the 15 traverse pitch (rail with feet just above the prominent roof). Not hard at all, but great fun. Also the 17 start and finish pitches are memorable pitches.

BBC sometimes gets funny with letting stuff be played outside the UK, esp the iPlayer. But if Justin can see it the problem may be on your side.

The main reason, but it's actually a great place to live. If you don't mid what you do, you can always get out and do something. Wet weather might be frustrating for the dedicated rock climber, but I've got bouldering on the beach 10 mins walk from the house, excellent sea cliffs, great mountain routes, a couple of small ski areas and loads of ski touring, a reasonable climbing centre, great winter climbing, loads of quality mountain biking, and a few good surf spots, all within a couple of hours drive.

Only thing it lacks is quality sport climbing in any great volume.
