I would label it as 'highly possible'.... The persons username on gumtree is 'internet.com' and they're trying to flog the lot for 3.5k. Based in Landsdowne too...
he's even willing to drop it for cash in hand deal sketchy right spoke to him over the phone his back story not to bad, but he has no clue on what his selling he said he wanted to get in to it and never got around to it "hahah" also that gear looks like its never been used well the draws at least
To me the gear looks to be fairly old vintage. The draws have markings on them - so they were a "real" climbers draws and the Beal rope looks like one of mine from a few years back - I go with the label "stolen" based on all of that...suspect that the best thing you could do is just tell the police and move on...
It seems that more and more people are buying "old" used gear without knowing it's history - something that is not wise in terms of ropes, harnesses, carabiners...etc. (pretty much all of your stuff). It is your life and your choice BUT I think it must be pointed out that generally buying second hand climbing gear is a bad idea - even if you know some of the history or the previous owner...
And NO this is not an attempt to open a discussion on the lifespan of soft goods and hard goods - this is about YOUR lifespan...
Really, its not that bad...I think it's my shoes...
