Yellowwood route book.

Yellowwood route book. 12 years in the making, some 43 new routes with a combined ascent of over 8000m vertical climbing (the height of Everest). Grades from 15 to 27 and all free climbing except for the very recent "The Time Line" that will inevitably go free. This has been a labour of love that has required at least 200 trips up there, some seriously bold crazy scary ground up on-sighting with no fixed gear on almost all the first ascents and not less than 5 almost seriously injurious falls.

The challenge has been to find partners as dip shit stupid as me to fashion these routes and the who's who of trad climbers (at least in the Western Cape) are named in the various routes and that includes Margaret Milne. I thank you all for helping and you will be rewarded with a guide once the Corona lockdown ends.

I do not personally claim to have free climbed all the pitches but of the 500 or so, there are only 2 or 3 that I haven't yet led on the sharp end. What a blast, what a journey and I am rather pleased to have survived it all pretty much unscathed and my climbing partners too!

At last the YW guide is available at CityROCK.

Buy the guide and I shall endeavour (obviously can't promise for a variety of reasons) to climb an appropriate route at YW with you sometime in the forseeable future.

Unfortunately the official launch cannot be done now.
