Climbing & Trail Running Group Winelands (Weekends)

Post by Blades » Thu Feb 14, 2019 3:21 pm

Hi

Wanting to know if there is an existing climbing/trail running group that is operating the Winelands area(stellenbosch).

There are two of us wishing to either start or join an group.

Mainly interested in trail runs and climbs that do not take up full days as I have a family.

We are both just below average in fitness.

Our aim is to start this weekend.

Shout out if there is anyone keen.

I might be keen, depending on the exact ins & outs.
-more the climbing than the trail running, but I'm open to both.

There's a great social trail running group which meet every Monday 6pm at Jonkershoek. You can find them on Facebook, I think they call themselves Jonkershoek Social Runs or something like that. Otherwise, just show up at the Jonkershoek gate on Mondays 6pm and you'll be sure to find them. As for climbing, there are a number of WhatsApp groups in the area which co-ordinate lifts and climbing days mainly to City Rock or Bloc11. The BTK have their own boulder cave on campus and its a good place to meet other climbers.
