Strubens 2

Postby nosmo » Wed Dec 06, 2006 8:35 am

Does anyone have any info on Strubens 2? Or know someone who does? Any beta will be much appreciated.

I think I heard someone mentioning that someone (is this sounding reliable) was bolting a new section of strubens slightly higher up the hill to the right of where everyone usually climbs?

Strubens 2 is to the right of strubens 1. There are about 20 bolted routes there ranging from 17-26.

I have been there a few times but my direction giving sucks badly

if you can get ahold of Niel Margetts he can give you directions

Thanks for the info!! That sounds great... Are the routes any longer than the original Strubens routes?

Thank you for the info Nicodemus. Directions aren't really a problem, I was wondering if there is some route info around. Does anyone know how to get hold of Neil Margetts?

Anyway, looks worth a climb.

Tangy, if you're keen to check it out, I have sport gear and a car. Send me a PM and we can organise something...

Okay some route info... can't quite remember the names of the climbs... it's been awhile since I was there...

As you walk in... the are about 3/4 routes ranging from 17/20... if I remember correctly there is a bulge which you start on and climb up... right of that is a clear separation of the crag and then there is a trickey 21? I think...

moving right there is a very balancy 26/27 (not sure what Guy graded it in the end) and then just right of that is the burly 23. The bottom is balancy and burly with some good holds if you just go straight up...

Pretty sure Niel can give you a better description than that...
