Karbonaatjieskraal - new owners

Postby Justin » Tue Dec 05, 2006 9:21 am

Karbonaatjieskraal has a new owner - See www.karoo1.com for details (no mention of climbing under activities!)

Has anyone climbed there since the new owners moved in?

I managed to get in within the first month of the change in ownership.
Since then I have hassled the new owner/manager (Guy) constantly to gain access, but with now success.
He doesn’t seem to be against climbing, but as far as I can tell he isn’t reopening the camping nor allowing day-trips.
There was talk of a MCSA rock meet at the crag, but it fell through as Guy insisted that everybody attending this meet need to be booked into his hotel/guesthouse.

An alternative was to contact the military (on whose property the climbing is anyway) for access from their side. I have heard rumours about somebody taking the lead on this but that is all I’ve heard.

Would anybody like Guy’s personal cell number to hassle him into submission?
