Re: Zimbabwe Climbing and exploration
Here are some projects we are working at Hillside Dams (a great park in the city with loads of bouldering and some rocks big enough to rope up for)

Ngomokurrira - About 15km north of Harare is one of the few developed areas in the country, the topo can be found in the wiki. It has six crags offering sport, mixed and trad climbing from short routes to routes of 170m.

Re: Zimbabwe Climbing and exploration
Not a fan of skin destroying granite??? how about some Basalt in the Batoka Gorge below Victoria Falls, offering up a variety of sizes from small 10m faces to sheer 100m faces and everything between. There is an area about 25km south of the falls where the gorge is in the region of 250m deep (although the cllimbing would be broken into sections).

Re: Zimbabwe Climbing and exploration
Recently I went to have a look at an area called Hoko Range, it is a range with a few peaks offering up climbing on beautiful Banded Ironstone I managed to explore only one section before the skies opened up and forced us to make a retreat. I think the area has been climbed before but so far i cant find any literature on it. I will be going up to Harare soon where i hope to get into the Mountain Club of Zimbabwe's records to find out about whats been done here.

Re: Zimbabwe Climbing and exploration
We walked up Silozwi in July, I would like to have a closer look at the big wall (which is a hell of a lot bigger than it looks in the photo)

Some amazing looking rock and formations.
Tsholthso cliffs look like they might be a bit soft though?

those pics of ngomokurrira really made me home sick.... I did a lot of climbing around Harare and that was one...but not always the sport routes.... thanks for sharing...I might have met one of you at the roc rally at boven, we talked hawks and falconry...maybe anyway I will be heading to Harare in april and want to do a road trip up and going to stop in Gweru so would love to meet up and spend a few nights in the motopos to see Rhodes grave and do a spot of crag work....will pm sooner to the time.
thanks for sharing
