We just passed through Meiringspoort on the way to our valie holiday and as usual I am wondering if someone has climbed there before. It looks amasing. I stuck my head out the window for most of the way.
There are some faces that look a bit 'sandy' and loose, but most of it looks bullet hard. And the folded faces make some amasing vertical cracks much the same as at Wilgepoort up north.
Someone has to have climbed here before. Does anyone recall having read something in the journals? Sweaty palms!

Re: Meiringspoort climbing
Nice place, there are a couple of routes there... I'll post the topo later on.
Bolting in the area is going to require permission from CNC.

Re: Meiringspoort climbing
Thanks for the reply Justin. Did you put up the routes? Trad or sport? I'm looking forward to seeing the topo.
I am tempted to stop over on the way home and try one or two of the cracks and the waterfall stopover point. There are some excellent looking ones right above the parking lot on the eastern side.
