Sentinel road condition?

Postby joshpickering » Wed Aug 07, 2013 9:13 pm

Just wondering if anyone has been to the sentinel car park in the drakensburg recently? We're trying to decide what vehicle to take, so would like to know what the condition of the road between witsieshoek and the sentinel car park is like, is it suitable for a car?

Thanks!

Josh, you'll do damage to the Tazz, take your car.

I was happy that i no longer have to take a focus up that road. Two weeks ago.

I went up there in a Toyota Avanza in April, the car got stuck at one point and 2 of us had to jump out and push. Preferably you want a high suspension. Don't think you need a 4X4 though.

Colin, unfortunately it's not just us, there's going to be 7 of us so just trying to figure out how best to go.

In that case, if you don't have much of a choice, you can still get up there in just about any car. You just need to take it slow and tell the fat people to get out ever the few dodgy sections.
