Re: Loose chain bolt
Loose nut or loose bolt? Big difference in the way to fix it...
I hate this real world place... I'd be more than happy to live out there rather...
Re: Loose chain bolt
Sorry for the lack of detail.
The bolt is loose, tightening the nut did not allow the mechanism to expand.
I suppose either the hole has worn out or the mechanism has deteriorated.

Re: Loose chain bolt
Does the bolt come out completely or just spin in it's hole (when you try to tighten the nut)?

Oh..... Fine then

Re: Loose chain bolt
Hmm. It is definitely worth checking out.
I could not pull it out all the way, but I did not force it too much either.

Re: Loose chain bolt
Had the same thing with a bolt in Montagu. I tried reasonably hard to get it out but with no joy.
The bolt should still be good.
I'll inquire further with a bolt manufacturer and see what they say.

Yeah, that was it. I did not check the brand though.
I suppose you have it on a bolting database or something.
I think Faders, but I can't be sure.

Re: Loose chain bolt
the bolt could be rotating around the sleeve, in which case, um, not sure if that is safe or not, but as it is a chain I would use it- that is why there are two
Sandbagging is a dirty game
Re: Loose chain bolt
I think I put that route up. The bolts are all 10x90mm Fischer FBN. As recommended by ARF and Andy Davies. Ill try and replace this summer but if anyone else is out in Rocklands with a drill feel free to fix it.
