Yesterday, at Hellfire, climbing with my buddy Bruce, we were exploring a new line when a hold broke off and I plummeted 3 or 4m. Both ropes were clipped to pieces close to my hands where I was crancking a lie-back crack and the edge broke off. The highest piece of pro came out with the broken rock and in so doing the rope tangled my legs and flipped me upside down. I plummeted down and my shoulder caught on a projecting shelf of rock - nice lammie as they call it and a gash. Kinda eina but no stitches and no fractures. Steristrips, myprodol and "ag shame" from Lucy my L'l girl and all was good but stiff today.

So after all these years I sustained my first injury in a fall.

Hope the next one only occurs in 35 years time again.

Oh, and I was wearing a helmet.
