Outdoor climbing partners Cape Town

Postby paulnoel » Sat Apr 07, 2012 6:42 pm

Hi,

I'm French and will be in Cape town from now to the end of August (I'm based in Muizenberg and have a scooter). I'm looking for partners for outdoor climbing on week-ends mostly.

Would be happy to climb every week-end as weather and personal life allow.

My level is about 6a/6b, so between 18 and 21 I guess. I've been climbing for three years now, mostly indoor (twice a week), with several outdoor sessions recently in France. I have harness and climbing shoes, but nothing else.

Hi Noel

I have sent you an email inviting you to come climb with us.

We will be at the Montagu Rock Rally this weekend if you would be interested in joining.

Kind regards
Delaney

Hi Noel

I climb sport, bouldering and trad with anyone willing to catch me. I climb a little harder than you, but give me a shout if you need a climb. 083 264 9064

I'm in Cape Town May 16th-18th and would love to get out with a group for some climbing or bouldering. I'm not sure of the grades, US system I climb up to about 5.11a, I think that is 6b+ in the french system?

Give me a shout if you're interested! I won't have a rope as I am traveling from Canada, but perhaps there is somewhere to rent one?

Thanks for the replies guys!

Delaney and Warren I saw you in Montagu, thanks for the week-end it was a lot of fun!

Christina, give me a shout when you arrive if you didn't find anyone to climb with. I'm sure we'll find a group of people and a rope by then.

Paul

Paul,
would you want to go climbing on May 18th? If you know someone who has a rope and would like to get out for a day I'd love to join!

Hi,

I´m a brazilian climber, and will be visting my brother who is living in Cape Town for the next week. I´ll be there from May 13th to 21th - with no plans. As I´m traveling as a tourist, I´m not carrying my rack, rope, and stuff, but I can bring harness, shoes and personal belay stuff.
Here I climb a solid French 6c+, 7a bolted... which I think is a 24 in your grading system. If the route is traditional, with cams and nuts, possible I´ll get too psyched and the grade is reduced to a 6a! ;)

Is there anyone up to partnership?

As Table Mountain is so simbolic, it could be my first choice! But... I don´t know nothing about climbing in ZA, just bouldering in Rocklands, but this isn´t my preferred style.

To check out about myself you can enter https://www.facebook.com/leosant

Hope someone answer me!
