Day trips from Port Elizabeth?

Postby spider_Monkey » Tue Mar 14, 2006 8:15 pm

Hi, quick request for help, info, and anything else going...

Scottish climber thats about to relocate to Port Elizabeth for 5months-ish for work. Probably only get one day off for most of the project, so does anyone have tips for day trips out of PE? Good local trad / sports routes? Local Gyms etc?

Preferably easier grades, trad to HVS/E1, Sport to 6a+/6b, bouldering to V4 / Font 6c.

All comments welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah , you're welcome to contact me . We're a small bunch in PE , but pretty active . There's no gym however , but enough trad , sport and bouldering to keep you more than busy for the period .

Hey Eric , ...will you guys have space for climbers in the Cape ?

We're a small group of climbers in PE, but we go climbing pretty much every weekend, you're more than welcome to join!.There's plenty of trad and sport routes close to PE which you can do in day trips easily. Give Dricus Bezuidenhoud a call on the nr Eric de Beer posted. 8)

The Eastern Cape has lots to offer. The Cockscoomb gorges... climbing is endless. Thats why I moved to PE. My climbing partner is also moving here.
