Re: beginners complete start pack (for 2) for sale
Keep it, don't sell it.
You must put your kids first, but you must also make time for your selves. Too often couples lives go on hold when the babies come along. The guy gets frustrated; the mother feels she has a ball a chain around her ankle, and the kid becomes difficult because they feel this. Very often this absence of doing things together results in the relationship falling apart. Sometimes the guy has an affair or you guys just drift apart. Make a plan to still do things together, lots of things. Find people who you trust to take the load off, and the kid/s also would like to meet other kids and have a little change now and then. Find a group of other climbers who also have kids, go to kid friendly places together and work a system where everybody gets some freedom and fun, (including the kids)
. I did not do this when my kids were small, and I regret it.

Hi, so assuming you still want to sell, what do you want for the draws?? No pressure to sell, you should carry on climbing.
Cheers

Re: beginners complete start pack (for 2) for sale
Neil makes a good point. We have a 6 month old kid and we take him to the crag with us. When he becomes mobile, someone will need to mind him or we'll leave him with the grandparents/sitter.Neil wrote:Keep it, don't sell it.
(I have had thoughts of hoisting him off the ground and tying him off to keep him out of trouble

Choosing a child friendly crag and having all the right gear (toys & things to make it comfortable) is important and so long as the kids are entertained everyone will have a fun day out.
So no need to quit completely! If you sell the gear now, chances are you won't buy it again and climbing will be lost to you forever!
+ kids love swinging on ropes

Niel and Justin, I agree
Re: beginners complete start pack (for 2) for sale
I must agree. I think crags are a perfect environment to raise a child (with the necessary precautions in place of course).
Please dont stop climbing!

Perhaps you just want to sell your stuff.... bu I agree with Niel and Justin if you are selling due to kids. I don't have kids but have seen many families manage. The Kastners have continued to climb (and climb hard!) with their two girls who are now 8 and 4. In Rocklands I climbed with a French Canadian couple who had their 2-year-old with them and a French Canadian couple whose little baby spent months 3 - 6 exploring the boulders of Rocklands.
It is definitely possible. Just saying'..... but good luck selling the stuff if you want to.
