ARF -feedback?

Postby Greg Hart » Wed Jan 11, 2006 10:29 am

How are the fund raising efforts for the ARF going? Are we close to being able to move forward, ie start re-equipping? I am also confused as to why Peers Cave and Kalk Bay are left off the list of crags to be 'fixed'. They both have a number of top anchors that are substandard and way past the sell by date. Being only top anchors replacing them would be easy- suggest using the ring-hangers produced by Raumer that Dave has in stock, 316 stainless and good quality, most of these anchors only need the chains replaced, the bolts holding the chains are fine.

Please can those managing the fund respond, its disheartening to put money into a project and then to be left in the dark as to how things are progressing.

Hi Greg - this is the 2nd query I received today so its heartening to see that people are interested. I was about to send out a big update but am waiting for some info on the bolt order and individual contributors. The corporate fundraising is going well and the bolts have been ordered. I will send out a complete update next week on CRN and ClimbZA.

PS thanks for you support Greg and Micky

I just want to say what an awesome job these volunteers are doing!!

To those climbers who've done nothing other than walking up paths that others have build, to crags where others have negotiated access, to climb routes that others have bolted - this is the time to put your hand up and put something back.
There's no point being pessimistic, because it probably won't work
