Where to start in Centurion?

Postby saleem » Thu Jan 20, 2011 5:35 pm

Hi All,

I watched 127 hours the other day and have come to the conclusion that climbing is f#$#ing awesome :thumright ! lol

As a complete beginner can anyone advise me where the closest place is from Centurion to get on a wall?

Wonderwall seems excellent, slightly far though..

Thanks!

I would suggest you move to cape town.
Climbing is the best sport, besides test cricket of course.

Is the bouldering wall at the Meerlust building still running?

Agreed on Cape Town, best rock in the country (besides 'Boven), but it's not always an option for everyone. Sometimes We get headaches here trying to decide which awesome crag to climb at

How did you come to that conclusion? It boggles my mind :? I think Touching the Void will excite you to dangerous levels then :cyclops:

Anyway, lets forget your morbid fascination with climbing, there is a wall at LC de Villiers sports grounds. You are likely to find people climbing there most weekdays. You can / should also join the Exploratio club, they are the keepers of the wall. It's the same wall Oakley referred to.

Hi
You welcome to pop in at the SA Climbing Academy, which is on Witkoppen rd in Paushoff. I guess (depending on traffic and which way you go) is about 20 min from Centurion. Have a look at www.saclimbingacademy.co.za or give me a ring on 083 669 3028
