Are there hanging belays on any of Africa Cracks; Africa Wall or Moonrake.

Just want advance warning...

Advance warning: Don't climb Africa Cracks. Total sandbag, off width nightmare.
Happy climbing

Sounds like you are taking your girl climbing... a hanging belay will definitely bring you and your girl closer

What grade is Africa Cracks? Left my guide next to my bed. Offwidths can be fun - kinda like banging your head against the wall (really great when it's over)

I settled for the hanging belay on Jacob's. Not bad at all, great day out and excellent weather.

So you reckon Africa Crag is a bummer? BTW does "hand traverse" mean no feet?

Africa Cracks? You wish to do Cracks?
Oooh now.... (rubs hands gleefully)... you'll just lurve the one little chimney....

I have a recollection of being jammed in there, my heel up my arse, knee sliding down the other side, in a pretzel contorted, trying to get a wire under a completely useless little flake, and watching my gear pop out and spin sweetly down the rope to my bemused belayer.

That is what Jonathan Levy sagely described, in an ominous chuckle, as a "fighting chimney" later at the tea-cave.

You want to take a new gf up there? It's a good route if you want her to break up with you, I guess.

Might be a little awkward getting up to pee in the middle of the night :drunken:
