And old classic I understand.
Anybody perhaps have a route description?
I would love to climb it next weekend.
Oh, and is it pronounced "Slang gooly" or like the afrikaans for "Snake oil" - "Slang Olie" ?
Slang Olie - Table Mountain
Re: Slang Olie - Table Mountain
It's a great day out!!!
Ross Suter put together a very good RD in the June 03 issue of SA Mountain Mag.
If like me you're a hoarder of anything climbing related, you should still have a copy lying around your loo. If not, I can make you a copy...... how to get it to you by the weekend is 'n ander storie though. What's your gym schedule this week?

Oi Jono...
Long time.
I was out of the country 2003. So I have to relax with copies of far-side and calvin & hobbs on the loo.
Probably will not be at the gym any time you'll be around...busy week, it is, but, if you leave a copy there I can make a plan to have it collected.
I could also collect it from a more convenient place Friday evening.
Oh, its weekend of the 29th, by the way.
Feel like joining us on the route?
....how about taking a photo and mailing it? Just a thought.

Hahaha, I forget that we're in the 21st century..... yes, of course I can scan and mail it to you.
Will sort that out tonight.
Hmmm, weekend of the 29th, sounds like a plan! Got a mate who's keen to get up it too. Will let ya know asap!

Re: Slang Olie - Table Mountain
Slangolie?
It's a little 'country route in the city'. Last did it with R&R on a 40 degC day. Congrats if you can onsight the crux. Not the move, that's not so bad, but finding where it goes is a bit baffling.
Ross's RD may be better, but it's the kind of route that the original RD lists as "follow the vague rib to the top".
Take care: there have been rescues off this route.
