If you go to Rocklands you will want to boulder, i promise.
We planned a 2week sport climbing trip there in june, the only time the rope was uncoiled was to tie something onto the roof of the car...

No im sure the climbing is as good the bouldering- which is saying something.

What i mean is when you see the boulders and you are a climber you just have to climb them... They are amazing!

When you arrive in clanwilliam drive straight through the town and follow the road. You will drive up a hill to where the dirt road used to start (its being tarred now) carry on over the pass and down the other side. That is where Alpha farms is which owns the De Pakhuys campsite. There are other places to stay close by. You can walk to some areas from the campsite, but others you take a short drive up or down the road. The people you meet there are best to show you around.

Have a look at the routes page on this website to see whats available to sport. I havent seen the climbs so i cant help you further... :thumright

Hi

Get a copy of Western Cape Rock, its quite old now but it has photo's of most of the crags and most of the routes. There is not much easy sport climbing at Rocklands (less than 10 routes under grade 20 I think). Routes to climb:
Rubic's Cube 18
Cattle Rustler 20
The Arete 21
Orange Plasma 22
All 5*, all well worth an attempt.
There are a bunch of new, easier routes on a crag called the Bastille, which is not in the Western Cape Rock guide, not sure where you would find an RD, try the routes section of this site
Happy climbing
Nic
