Clearly they are having to much fun to post for us poor sods who are working. Hope it rains no scrap that - hope it sleets, rains, plagues of frogs and locusts ... jealously makes me nasty.

Streaky and Wayne - sheeeees! Just go to the Rock and Road site (link on main page) and read all about it there. Why do you have to be spoonfed every step of the way???? Or are you incapable of navigating the web?
Derek thanks, but its completely unnecessary, let these ninnys do their own research and reading!

XMod I am fully aware of the R&R page it just seems to get updated very slowly (i.e. 1 day delay) and I was a little impatient and hoping for any news as a distraction from work and boredom...

Re: 8B+ By Ondra
Streaky you bored?
Check this out: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldne ... t-air.html
"Jyothi claimed his ability to place his hands and feet exactly where they need to go is proof he was born to climb"
I mean who can say the same thing?

Re: 8B+ By Ondra
LOL! Arrogant little bugger isn't he?'My ability to see the foothold that others can't is proof to me that I was born to climb,' he said.
'My strength and hand speed are the tools that set me apart from other climbers.'

Re: 8B+ By Ondra
Nice work there Emile and Kyle
I love the Dan Osman move into a figure 4 and then the fake falls as he descends - Priceless!
Who needs R&R updates when we have Jyothi to entertain us!
Can't see Pedley or Ondra doing anything like this guy!
Awesome!

Re: 8B+ By Ondra
The Potch and JHB guys are still on the road home. For the rest of us its over. Congrats to the winners.
For the guys that couldn't make it, sorry we had a great time without you. I sure people will agree that its going to take a lot of work to top this trip. The guys from western cape seemed to be up for the task and I hope they pull it of in style. Can I book a place on the bus now.
Garvin
Ps. really! who do I contact for a tag-along seat on the bus?

Re: 8B+ By Ondra
The capies are home, I think the bus is docking in Durban as I write, and yes the JHBs are still en-route.
Andrew Pedley has gone to Montague with Adam to show him to Mazawati.
Adam's climbing and slide show has really inspired many of us. I think the two take-aways are his ability to use his feet as 3rd and 4th hand-holds up by his navel and chest (I'm taking up yoga now) and his excitement for trying to do hard routes on-sight. He tries to onsight everything he does, and never has a project-need-work mentality.
There was some skeptism about the Eastern Cape's (geological) ability to host the R&R.
I can report that this was absolutely unfounded, and that everyone who went is very glad they did.
We enjoyed having a very level arena at some areas that none of us had ever visited, and the finals venue at Waterkloof/Baviaanskloof was stunning. Andrew Pedley has suggested that while only having only 12 routes, the crag is a contender for best in the country for the 27 - 31 range. I certainly will drive another hour further and trade it for an Outshoorn weekend soon. I think it was described as 'Fernkloof on steroids' - every route is comparable, if not better than something like point-break at the supertubes, for those more familiar with that.
A big shout out to all the organisers - YOU ROCK!
Finally, R&R 2010 is in the Western Cape. Everyone that is interested with ideas and helping out with this please get in touch with Neil, myself, Gosia, or someone on the MCSA rock sub-com soon - we need to have a brainstorm session in the next few months. :-)
