Gosia on El Nino

Postby Flex » Tue Jun 02, 2009 10:32 am

I'm sure most people have picked up on Gosia's ascent of El Nino by now but I just wanted to say well done! A female SA ascent of 8a is pretty newsworthy I think. Not many have done it. Let's hope we see some more in the near future...

Sick send Gosia, totally kick ass! Hopefully this will inspire other SA female climbers to start cranking and pushing their grades a bit. :thumleft:

Great effort Gosia! Has anyone noticed that, with the exception of Steve the spoiler, the 8a ranking thing is an all female affair this week? What's more, the grades are not too different to what a "typical guy's week" would have been. Perhaps it's time Gosia allows some guys onto the 'Climb Like a Girl' weekens she runs. :thumleft:

Hey Guy <there will b those who don't get it>

I wanna just get my name at the front of the que for the Climb like a girl weekend...if nothing else I know that I can definately belay 8a and 8a+...tho depending on which of the girls is sending I might well be distracted...

But worse, now I kno why you turned both my proposals (climbing proposal guys...) down for mid June - they, like, 15 grades to sof for you ^;^

Great send G! Some dyno practice and a bit of sloper practice and Up for grabs will fall too! Remember there's a bottle of champagne waiting for our first lady to send 8a+, If anyone else wants to add to this bounty please do so.
You're right Tristan - I dont get it. But if these are the grades the ladies are sending I wish I could climb like a girl!!! :)

:)! T don't be ridiculous, but if i'm going to go against The Great God of Studying it has to be for something I haven't done in the berg - its part of my (at least) one berg peak a year thing. Have you done the western injusiti triplet - i've heard its mean... Keen sometime? Else I'd be keen to try do a new route on the tooth - since it only has one - but not this year - I need some tooth amnesia first. Maybe next year i'd be up for the astonomical mission of dragging static and everything to do the tyrolean and maybe sneak a new route in also (although sneaking anything in the berg is not that likely). What you think?

Heinrich, ja trad all the way! But winter is superbly crap for that in the cape :(

LOL

Hmmm, rumor has it that a route has been sneaked in the 'berg - somewhere in the central berg...and rumor also has it that it might be located (poetically-licensed at leasat) in Lesotho

Ja, I been on the summit on the Triplet - Like Tooth, a few years back...

New-Routing in the 'berg...hmmm...can we take a drill? Wait, did I type that out loud? :jocolor:
