Never went to the lonehill/fourways area, because I heard it was very sharp and a bit kak. Try the Glade - as far as I know, no-one has ever had any problems there. And there are one or two of the best problems in Joburg there (the warmup, Skidmark, Taken by Force and Arch Enemy). hope that helps.

Boulders at lonehill is a nature reserve to which one needs to arrange access via appropriate bodies. It is a sensitive bushman site. As far as i remember access was only on sundays - might have changed. If you tell them you want to climb there they wont let you in. If you jump the fence they will come in a big bakkie and track you down with dogs and fine you! Believe me, i'm speaking from experience. Don't waste your time.

Lonehill is not too bad (hey as long as you are climbing) and I have never experienced any access problems. Just stroll into the park. The landings are not good though. Rather set up a top-rope on top of some of the big slabs for some cool friction climbing. Dom...Where is the glade?

Dave, the Glade is in Melville, about 500m up the road (in the direction of Melville) from the Melville Koppies climbing area, on the same side of the road. Basically, it's just below the RAU astroturf.
