Hey Justin. It's a machine that through vibrating side-to-side and forward and back, induces the muscles to work through reflex, as the motion keeps the body off-balance and the muscles work to keep the balance. It also vibrates up-and-down accelerating the body up against gravity and increasing body strength to cope with the extra weight. This all happens at between 30 -50 per second. Believe me, this is no gimmick.

This is a awesome machine, zero impact and all the workout you need. Makes your nose tingla a bit though :D
