pitch between Atlantic crag and Moonrake?

Post by Brussel » Sat Jan 17, 2009 9:11 pm

Has anyone ever climbed from the belay 5m above the traverse pitch of moonrake across to the belay before the crux of Atlantic crag?

We climbed it today and it goes at a very airy 16. Means you do Moonrake's two pitches from africa ledge height. Then from the belay traverse left into a corner where you move down slightly and continue to traverse to the flakes below Atlantic crag's crux.

anyone done this before? makes a fun linkup...

ps anyone else think the traverse on moonrake is a little more exciting than the grade of 16 would suggest?

I've certainly done that traverse/link, and I first saw it done in the late 70's or early 80's.
Moonrake was a good old F3 in the old days, which by my reckoning makes it a 17?
