There has been a serious lack of climbing comps, espescially up in Gauteng ove the last few years, hopefully we can change that around. The Barn is hosting 4 comps this year, 2 climbing, 2 bouldering, each about 3 months apart, obviously the first one being on the 7th of feb, hopefully we can eventually aim at a national comp like they did at the dome in 2000. :D

The Competition held at The Barn climbing Gym on the 7th February was a great success overall, with 30 competitors and another 20 spectators, The Barn was packed with excitement and screams of encouragement. Towards the end of the competition tension rose as the finalist attempted their final route, with some impressive bails and ear bursting screams the results where as follows:

U18 Mens: 1st- Joshua Nel, 2nd- Sheldon Crabtree, 3rd- Alex Bester
Mens Novice: 1st- Hannes Mostert, 2nd- Sarel, 3rd- Arnold de Beer
Womens Open: 1st- Illona Pelser, 2nd- Madelein Swanepoel, 3rd- Candice Bagley
Mens Open: 1st- Donavan Willis, 2nd- Wesley Black, 3rd- Dewald Kloppers

A Special Thanx to our sponsors: Evolv, Mad Rock, Saltic, Beal and Black Diamond
