What is access like at Wilgepoort, and who do I contact for directions? Does much climbing get done there?

Access is easy. 20min walk, car camping. Farmer is climber-friendly, contact the JHB MCSA (Uschi Magg) for the farmer's details and the arrangements. Think the fee is R20. There are a fair number of routes there, dont know how frequented it is. The rock is the usual Transvaal quartzite, but its been turned through 90 degrees so there are lots of long, continuous vertical cracks. Very nice. 50 to 120m high with a convenient rap route in the middle and a descent ramp on the side. Check the RD in the Wiki. Must-do routes: Cabernet/Muscadel combo, The Key, Bottleneck Bulge, Some Like it Hot. Dont bother going in summer, even now is too warm after 12. Get there at sunrise.
