Nut at Krakadouw

Did you forget you favourite boots at the crag? Or, did you find some quickdraw on the 4th bolt of some route?

Nut at Krakadouw

Post by Sputnik » Wed Mar 26, 2008 11:35 am

If you are on top of pitch #6 of \"Amphitheater Direct\" at Krakadouw, please get my nut which is placed in a crack. It's not a leaver nut, it's my favorite nut.

The main one right of the Gendarmes. The route is left of King Kong.

Ok so let’s get this right –

One moment it was tucked in nicely next to your gendarme, and the next it was lodged in a foreign crack?
And now you want our help setting things straight?

I guess that’s what friends are for…

If I had friends I would not be pulling on my nuts now would I?

Ok lets see if I understand this; you want one of us to go all the way to the top of Krakadouw amphitheatre to go and fetch this thing for you???
You must be nuts! You should take better care of your body parts!

Get over it dude - honestly its just a piece of friggen gear for F&ck$ sake!! Hardly worth bothering all of us with now is it?

KMod please don't get aggressive here - there are sensitive issues at hand that need to be handled in an understanding manner.

Sputnik you need to come to terms with the fact that your friends are not there as a substitute for pulling on your nuts. That is not to say that you should climb without protection, but rather that you should opt for more appropriate routes of experimentation that will allow for self expression without the emotional trauma that you seem to be experiencing.

Try something like Fantasy Factory at Muizenburg, where you can hone your skills in a far less commiting environment before heading for the big hills.

Happy Climbing

its all fun and games until someone loses a nut.

Seriously, trad climbers ought to stop leaving there nuts lying around.
It degrades the beauty of the rock face and spoils the challenge for the next climber as to where to place their nut.
