Climbing partner wanted: Pretoria area

Postby emile » Fri Feb 08, 2008 1:28 pm

Hi there

I'm looking for a regular climbing partner / a group to join in the Pretoria area - weekends wherever and the (PTA) plastic during the week. I don't climb hard and would like to change that, but I don't have a partner and I suck at self belaying

Cheers

The train

Just a note if you find a partner: to avoid hectic toll and petrol prices, take the train: http://www.transnetfreightrail.co.za/ShosholozaMeyl/index.jsp?link=timetable&routeid=23

A return ticket is R100, the hours are not great, but catch a nap if you can.

The latest reports were that security is really tight on the trains.

And guess what? It is a lot more environmentally friendly!

:? Load shedding? I dunno

Gustav, how far is the station from the Climbers Lodge? And is the walk ok at 2am?

It is 500m and you there is no worries. If you wish, we can even organise the cops to escort you up. Really.

It is actually quite a fun trip, go for it!
