gotta get some of those soft foam earplugs - the orange ones - they work like a bomb and are pretty comfortable. never go camping (or travel) without them.

Love the Hellfire pic. Awesome place.
Since I started climbing I developed a big crack addiction.

Hellfire is great.
It's about an hours' drive from CT. Not speeding. Go through the Du Toits Kloof tunnel. Make a U-turn, park.
Walk up 30-40 minutes. It's behind the Du Toits Kloof mountain range so when it is miserable in CT, Hellfire is often clear. The crag is mostly North-facing and these two factors make it a great winter venue. Summer - HELL. It's both sport and trad. Be happy to take you there, Andrew P.
Ross Suter and Greg Hart have written an excellent guide book for the place. Some routes also written up in WCR.
ANDREW P WARNING: most routes are mere mortal grades (high teens and tons of low twenty stuff).

Yes Andrew, you should! It is mostly trad, but there are a bunch of sport routes. I can think of one that will give you a serious run for your money - if you can do it at all. As far as I know, no-one's done it yet.

Jones - it was taken in Mhlabatini (by the looks of it, from the tree at the top of Quicksilver)

This looks ace. Anyone fill in location, grade and name if it has one?

Suspect it's a bit rich for my blood, but nice to know.

Apologies if this is a well known classic prob, and a duh! question, but I'm a bit out the loop.

nice pic yes! but route name, grade, location & climber name should really be mentioned - picture is beautiful but pretty meaningless otherwise.

Slash and Burn, 7B in the Twin boulders sector of de Pakhuys. Klem Loskot opened it I think.

Great shots :thumleft: Kath Fourie took the photos of Faye at Umgeni - don't know what route it is though!?

Have a look in the gallery - there are more photos from other people that have not had a chance to be featured on the home page (and not just of Faye)

Faye on her new project at Umgeni! Taken by Kath. Love this pic, have it as my wall-paper :-D Like the pushy balance move and the look is.. 'I'm gonna get ya', but with a bit of, 'This is going to be fun'?

Expect a send soon..

Fayes expression is priceless! With determination like that, that route's gonna get crushed!

I am amped for a trip to Umgeni..there are quite a few new routes since I was there last.
- Paul opened something hard, a 32?
- Simon opened something?
- Roger must have opened something?
- No doubt Fayes route will be open.
Probably all on Wiki, I must go check it.

If whoever's photo that is is reading this, regarding your comment, I actually thnk the pic could do with more cropping; right down to head and shoulders. It's great as it is, but a tighter crop would be awesome. IMO.
