Hi Jacqui

There are lots of climbers in Durban. Wide range of experience.

Maybe you need to include in your sales pitch somthing like - "Beginner climber ... I know. In Durban for a while over Dec & Jan. Great belayer. Will buy beers at the pub!"

Some don't drink that healthy amber neck chalming stuff. But I think there was only one. And he had to leave for some reason. Spoken about in hushed tones.

Check out the UKZN Old Mutual Sports hall on a Tuesday and Thursday evening. Stokers or Waxy's on a Sunday afeternoon / evening.

contact any of the officers and ask them, I do not suggest posting on the wall as the page does not see that much traffic.

angus is right, no beer no climb, :thumright

I run a climbing club, that is running through the holidays, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5pm, at kloof high school. We have almost finished our extension of the walls, so the climbing facility is almost great.

We are not all gym climbers and most the climbers see rock often and dont mind a beginner tagging along. But we do get paid in beer, at-least for the first time, then it depends on your climbing.

give me a call O72 Thirty8O 839to.

Hi Jacqui!

Usually the varsity wall is open to anybody who is keen, however it is closed at the moment because they write exams in the hall, and are very concerned that we will write crib notes all over the desks

We head out every weekend to the crags, so give me a shout when you're in town.

Ahem... 'don't know where to go...' I would suggest you follow the link at the top of the page - Bookshop - and it will lead you to the new guidebook. I have heard it is awesome....

Na that books sucks! the author probably never climbed any of those routes and the worse thing about it is that it doesn't stand up to normal use wear and tear mine is all warped and crinkled ear marked! I mean it's not like I misuse mine; it only gets thumbed through 3-4 times a week and lives safely in my backpack 24/7 (at the bottom with my rope and biners). And seriously, I only spilt coffee on it twice, when my flask broke and when I used it as a coaster at the crag...
