We were on If Women were GOds on Saturday, when I noticed the block at about 4 meters seems to be more loose than it was before all the rain. I could actually move the whole block without too much effort.

As it used by most people to gain the ledge, please take care not to injure yourself or your belayer

It's because you aided (with your 95 kgs) off that piece that the block is loose!!! :thumleft:

A portaledge! haha - no, wasn't me, I can generally get up in one go (and I don't need to aid up a warm-up route :rambo: ), might have been marley though :jocolor:

i'm just worried that you guys are still climbing 20s tsk tsk

btw, if 'n think of the right block it means there is a bolt on the block - if the block comes off while you are clipped in to the bolt it will be ugly...... yeak, hard to imagine that shorti can be any uglier but maybe its possible..........

Yikes! good point Mok. I can't remember if there is a bolt on it. This block is the one just right of the undercling in the small roof. The layback crack is behind it on the right. The block is basically the corner. I would advise people to not hang on it with your full weight (especially fatties like mokganjetsi, marley, mr chabalala and sipho). This reminds me of a story my dad told me. They were building a new bridge and one guy was busy on the ramp with a grader. He was obviously told to stay off the bridge for a few days. He didn't and my dad came across deep tracks in the concrete. The guy's explanation: "Ek het net liggies op die brug gery om die grader om te draai"
