 Post subject: oceans of fear 'topo'

I'm a UK climer interested in the oceans of fear route, any one have a copy of the topo, whats the obliqatory free grade?
Have done nose and south face washington column.
Whats the belay station situation for hauling, bolts in situe?
Any bivi spots or portaledge needed?
Access agrements, long approach, best time of year, water availability?
Any one available for some suffering, first accenters only.

Hi Kieth

The obligatory grade is only SA grade 20 (6a+/6b). The first three piches you'll be hauling off natural anchors then there are a couple of bolted stances, then some more natural. The aiding is all relatively straight forward too (A1). The bivy spots are not great... The Ledge of Forgotten Dreams (end of P4) can sleep 2 (only just, and take a hammock).

You can quite easily do the route in two long days, without having to bivy on the wall. You may well find the walk-in the thoughest part.

Also access to the area is fairly restricted and arrangements need to made with the farmer before hand.
