Concensus of Grade

Postby brianweaver » Mon Jun 02, 2008 2:23 pm

Hi,

I got on Johnny Keep Walking this weekend at Bronkies. There is simply no way that it is a 26. I have pointed two 27s and another 26 which were all easier than this route. I propose a grade of 28. The sheer length and severity of the overhang makes it much harder than the grade it has. Was the route guide a typo?

Illona also got on the route and agrees with me. The huge moves, lack of rests and size of grips make it really hard for even 27. I would like some feedback from guys who have sent this route.

which route is that? The steep route mark seuring put up to the right the black route? Its very great route. 7b+ so that would be 27. If you dont get the knee bar near the top it might feel like 7c. Also you got to milk that rest on the slabby bit. I also thought 26 was quite staunch!

I agree that it feels more like 27. I still haven't sent it but do believe it's as hard or harder than the 27 left of it.

I found that knee bar at the top, it's a great rest right before the finish... Was definitely milking that rest on the slab. Thanks for the input. So 27 it is...

Nice one weaver, I assume you sent it. Beta is great. Now try something harder, bully maybe? Or Faberge.
