Roof On Fire - Rocklands Re-Grading

Postby Hann » Fri Aug 03, 2012 1:43 pm

Heads up to those heading to Rocklands this weekend.

We broke of the key exit hold from Roof On Fire during the week.

Fret not, because we epoxied it back yesterday.

It is not exactly as it was, so the move may be slightly less committing.
(some in our party could not reach, so, seeing that we had the opportunity we made it climbable for her to)

Some feedback concerning the new grade would be good.
We estimate it one grade lower now.

Shot in advance.....

The grade probably depends... was this done before or after the pocket in the blank roof section was drilled?

Either you're a troll or you should be shot, or both...
I hate this real world place... I'd be more than happy to live out there rather...

please please tell me you are trolling, and if not could someone show us a picture.

It would piss me off to no end if this is true, as that move could probably be done with a much crappier hold there. i assume you added a foot hold at the base of the roof too then? I mean if you are going to add holds back to a route, why not simply reconstruct it to a 6a, or some other Plebish grade.

As it is a Sunday i'm sure we will hear about it from the guys up there in the next day or two

While we're talking about holds being pulled off, joking aside - the phallus on Dirty Lies has been broken off. It must have happened in the last 3 days of so. Some people never used this hold anyway, but it was quite crucial for us short people. The new route name might be "Bobbit".

I find it fascinating how people gets upset when we fix something.

But boulderers think it is acceptable to destroy the fynbos with pads and leave climbing tape litter everywhere.

Ag man, holds break. If you can epoxy them back on then why not?
Although suggesting you guys put it back in such a way as to change the problem purposefully is a little dodgey aint it?

And that SUCKS about Dirty Lies :( I NEED that stupid hold to do that problem :(
