Green eggs and spam

Post by ClimbZA » Mon Jan 16, 2006 6:01 pm

Hi Everyone,

Due to the recent influx of spam on the Climb ZA forum, we have taken the decision to lock the forum down.
What this means is that in order to post or reply a message you need to be logged in (you do not need to be logged in to view posts).

Other than that it's buisness as usual. Let us know if you experience any problems :D

keep crankin 8)

Green eggs and SPAM

Post by ClimbZA » Sun Aug 20, 2006 8:41 pm

Hi Everyone,

Due to the recent waves of continuos spam hitting the Climb ZA forum we've added word filters so most bad words should appear as 'SPAM' (give or take a few exceptions).
Spam is deleted as it appears, however... with the exception of the 'medical pills' ad's most of it is rather offensive and we're working on a way of blocking the offenders.

Apologies for the spam!

Less Spam

Post by ClimbZA » Tue Sep 26, 2006 9:20 pm

While we were away at Boven the website was flooded with continuous waves of spam...
A new patch has been applied and most spam postings should no longer show up.
Till they come up with another method of posting spam

Many thanks to all the people who contacted us about the spam on the forum 8)

We've denied 400 spam postings since the 17 of November till today (1st of December).
Till someone hacks it, the forum should remain relatively free of spam.
