KZN - NBL

Postby Nic Gear » Sat Jan 22, 2011 12:04 pm

ITS THAT TIME AGAIN!!!!

The KZN bouldering league is starting on the 3rd of Febuary at the Durban University wall, comp starts at 6pm, and is R30 per comp. Part of the proceeds earned go to the KZN re-bolting fund (MCSA) to ensure safe cranking and also to help the finalist get to Rhodes for the national final.

THIS YEAR IS DIFFERENT, we are experimenting with a "social" category for those week-end warriors who climb as hard as Chris Swarmer but only on easier grades. Each of the 10 problems will have "bonus" grips for the "social" climber, this will make the problem easier and doable for beginners and the casual climber. Social climbers can't qualify for the finials in Rhodes but will be rewarded with spot prizes of beer and climbing hampers. So if you climb less than grade 22 this is for you.

Dates and updates will appear on http://www.sancf.org and http://www.kznclimbing.co.za and on this fantastic forum.

HELP NEEDED, do you fancy yourself as a rout-setter? Keep in mind we only use 4 out of the 6 comps to determine the finalist. Route setting is an art and a honor so we don't pay but the memory of a great problem will be imprinted on the fingers of your friends for a lifetime. I need at-least 2 route-setters per comp.

Contact me for any further information/suggestions or post something on this forum topic.
