Hi.

I didnt use them , Derek Marshall and his son did. they appeared to work out well but he would be able to give far more accurate info as to how it went with them. he has the website http://www.easterncaperockclimbing.co.za

Thanks Dirk, we all had a great time. Thanks for all your effort & preparation. It was a fun weekend.

A: Removable bolts are a bit of a mission, but nice to have at a seaside country style setting like Morgans. Unnecessary for the occasional trips to Morgans, but great if you have made too many trips & need to do the unprotected lines, in between the lines, to keep it interesting. RBs are not going to become main stream. We took a few falls & they held. We had fun.

Great to see the event went so well: wish I could have made it.

RE removable bolts: have you thought about rather drilling a nut placement? I did a bit of experimenting with the idea a couple years ago, and while they are fiddly to install at least they last, are safe, and everyone has a nut set. If I remember correctly a 10mm hole with a 6mm {could be wrong on this number} wire slot can safely take a #4 wall nut. I drilled the 10mm hole down at about 45deg, and the wire slot perpendicular to that. I can send photos etc if needed. I thought about building a jig to line the holes up accurately, but never got around to building one. I agree bolts don't really have a place in an environment like that.
