Kalk Bay Robbery

Postby Justin » Wed Jun 25, 2014 6:33 pm

CAPE TOWN – A man has been stabbed to death during a robbery on Wednesday.
Police spokesperson Andre Traut confirmed the 72–year–old man and a woman in her 40s were confronted by a robber at the Trappieskop hiking trail near Kalk Bay.
The woman escaped unharmed.

The robber managed to escape with several items.
No arrests have been made as yet.
Peninsula Ramblers hiking club member, Glenda Doller, described the incident as tragic.
“It is quite a wake–up call because this is a very popular route. This [the incident] has made us very worried.”

This is extremely tragic and sad and angers me no end. I have repeatedly contacted TMNP crime watch to report people sleeping at the crags, destroying routes with fires etc. yet they have never once acted on any of my calls. The ranger in charge of that area wrote on this very forum that he was unaware of my communication in these matters. How is it that the message does not get through? Why does nothing get done about it? A terrible event to happen at such an idyllic place. :|

First modern one. No doubt the Devils of the Mountains like Van Hanks company were responsible for some. Crime happens
Sandbagging is a dirty game
