Property 10 mins outside of Montagu with awesome kloof for sale.
The pic below is a 10 minute walk up the kloof - a friend was going to purchase it but cancelled due to other commitments which have come up.
Details here: http://capetown-westerncape.gumtree.co. ... Z317105271
The house is quite basic, but appears to be solid. Water is plentiful.

Uhm......
Perhaps all the climbers can chip in and buy this property.
Then we can donate the land to Matt so he may bolt to his hearts content.... on his OWN property.

I am not a rich man. But I do love climbing. If there are plentiful routes to be developed (say 20+) I could be convinced to ask the bank to give me about R100k towards the property to be held by the MCSA. BUT this assumes that other people come forward with similar. Is the investment worth it? Justin you have seen the property - would R1,25m be better spent within the the reserve or on a new portion of land?
Ernesto.
I don't think, therefore I'm Not

Snort,
This property has been on the market for almost 2 years now. We went to view in February 2010 and although on paper it looks ok there are a number of problems. First on all if you're a climber and want to open routes the climbing isn't up to much. Very pretty to look at and do a bit of scrambling and walking. Most of the property is on the slopes with part of the kloof included. There are no water rights accompanying the property as the stream which is referred to in the adverts is actually one of the main supplies to Montagu town and as such the property is only allowed to use that water from a PVC pipe which comes from a small weir some 100 m up the kloof. Hence the water tanks. The other big problem is the proximity to orchards, about 25 metres in front of the house, where high volume spraying is carried out occasionally through the year and more frequently during fruit season. Spray drift.
The asking price at that time was R 1.25 m. I was a cash buyer but decided against it.
Maybe it's for you though.
