I want to climb on new ropes, so I keep selling my rope every 6 months, bought this one in June, so its about time for a new rope. Rope retails new at R2300. W$ill sell to heighest bidder, starting at R1000.
Rope has taken 2 good falls (5m & 8m), and a bit of dogging. the rope has light fluff 2m from the ends, but nothing major or worrying. the main reason why 6 months is i find the dry coat starts to thin about now, this is only really true for the ends, the bulk of the line is in excellent nick as it is so young. i will wash the line before delivery.

Gustav, can't you use old static for towing?
Seriously though, every climber should know not to buy second hand ropes of uncertain history from unsavoury characters on the web.
For all we know someone was mugged for this rope!
Having said that I must pose the question that if the rope is not good enough for you why should others think they are safe using it?
I really like these 9.7 ropes though, so -apart from wanting R1000 Rand for it, which is probably a bit much on a used car sort of comparison (buying a car that has been used for Rallying as opposed to a showroom one)- what colour is it & where are you based?

Really, its not that bad...I think it's my shoes...

Hey Warren
Once you have found a buyer for your rope come speak to me! Can set you up with a new Edelrid 9.8 Eagle which won't need replacing every six months - particularly considering how little you use it!
It may even improve your climbing (by association) and hence you won't fall as often, but time will tell
Not sure its very good for high-lining though, which I hear is a short and direct road to hospital???

I am here to service the climbers of the country with great gear, this is one way i do it: some guy scores a 6month old rope for less then half price and i get a shiny new one, win-win i think! if people were sharp they could abuse this situation, instead of me. My ropes is in Cape Town, i am not hiding in a cupboard and claiming briliance-ask me for a look.
