Sorry, I should have given a lower limit. Given it cost 70 pounds, I would like to get at least 700 Rand for it. You can post here or contact me at

wow, so gear is cheaper here than in UK! Actually I looked at a couple of other items on MMO and found them cheaper than they are in the UK. How can that be? Maybe I should take it back there and sell it then because at current exchange rates it's worth over a R1000. Maybe MMO could export to the UK!

Is the 2004 model the new or old one? The new size 5 is smaller than the old 4.5. It is halfway between the old 4 and the old 4.5. I just bought a new size five for us$ 98 excluding shipping and Vat.

On a serious note. I bought a new model size 6 BD cam for R700 at City Rock. OK that was about 18 months ago. But it was still hec cheap. Cheapest size 6 Friend at the time was R1100.

Alternative

You can buy a drill for a couple of grand and bolts are about R40 a pop including hanger. The advantage is you can place bolts anywhere whereas a camalot 5 will only fit in those thrutchy off-widths that you guys obviously want to climb [for some or other sick reason]. But the camalot is good for beating the car radio thieves if you can catch them whilst dragging the cam behind you!

There is nothing sweeter than a thruchy off width.

The obvious advantages of a large cam over bolts: are that it can be placed in more than one off width. Can be placed onsight & quickly. It does not have batteries.
