Cleaning a Down Sleeping Bag

Post by Sullivan13 » Sat Aug 10, 2013 4:47 pm

I'm going to be in Rocklands for the next several weeks and have a got a down bag that is in serious need of some cleaning. Does anyone know if there are shops that clean down bags in the Cape Town area? Otherwise, are there laundromats with front-loading washers and dryers that also have temperature control settings (drying a bag on anything but low will quickly ruin it). Thanks for the help!

There is a dry cleaners in Muizenberg that cleans all of First Ascents down products for them. Maybe give them a call and ask for the details?

Not any dry cleaner do down specific cleaning. Obviously I've Googled it. Asked here and you recommended a place. Thought you might have known what the place in Muizenberg is called.

...
I've heard back from First Ascent. They told me who they use:

Marina Dry Cleaners
75 Main Rd, Muizenberg
021 788 4998

R200 per sleeping bag.
R100 for a jacket.
