Little rock Ladybrand.

Post by matttranter » Mon Oct 10, 2016 4:45 pm

I am in Bloemfontein for a couple of weeks visiting the in laws.
Headed to Ladybrand for a couple of days climbing.
Was her 10 years or so ago and remember there was scope for many routes.
1. Is it ok to bolt new lines?
2. Due to Quantas not recognising climbing gear as essential sports wear - I don't have my bolting gear. Does anyone or a university club or something have any gear they could lend me? Very happy to buy the bolts and glue etc.
3. Anyone want to climb next week!?!

Put up about 1000 routes world wide, happy to bolt beginners or dead hard as needed ( I would do a nice 20 to bimble up - if I can get my Braai induced tummy off the ground.)

Matt.

Hi Matt

We would be very happy if you are willing to bolt some lines, anyone can bolt there. We have bolted quite a few routes lately. There are already more than 60 routes in Ladybrand now. You can find the latest route guide here http://www.climbufs.com/crags-around-bloem.

We have two climbing clubs in Bloem:
The University of the Free state's club Momentum http://www.climbufs.com ; We are open every Monday and Wednesday 17:00 to 19:00
CUT Mountain club, Usually open every Tuesday and Thursday 17:00 to 19:00

With the student protest at the moment the walls are often closed, I can add you to our whatsapp groups for more info. It would also help to find climbers to join you. Contact me if you would like 084 42 (5) 505 eight

Chris
