If you climb/hike on Valken or Barrier Buttresses don't use the water in Valken Ravine for a few weeks, or until we've had good rain.
The body of a lone hiker was recovered there recently.

Surely that won't affect the drip behind the tree on Barrier? I get how it could affect the waterfall

Could be, couldn't say for sure.

But bear this in mind, if an animal takes in polluted water (or other for that matter) from the waterfall and urinates/defecates at another point that feeds into said drip - said drip could be contaminated.
This post is just a polite heads up, you're welcome to drink any water you want.

Personally, with all the missing persons these days... I don't drink water on Table Mountain anymore.
