Biner at the gift

Postby chr1sj4n » Mon Apr 02, 2012 10:45 pm

Hi guys just want to let you know that I climb the Gift (Silwermine Lower) today and both me and my climbing partner got stuck on the crux of the gift. I let a steel caribiner (rated and approved for climbing) instead of a quickdraw. I will go back on Wednesday to finish the climb and get the biner. Please if you climb the gift you are welcome to take the biner (gift on "the Gift")(it is brand new). First off the question is did I do right in terms of the unspoken rules and second of all how in the world do you finish the last bolted section before the tie off point?

Hi Christian,

From a safety point of view you broke the 'Never trust one bolt' rule.

Check out this link to see what you could have done  How to safely retreat from a sport route
Feel free to ask questions if you have any.

Regarding the crux, more pull ups and climbing will get you through it :P
