So we all like opinions and dislike opinions, so why not make a button for it then you dont have to state your opinion or read the whole 4million posts in the threat. You can simply read the intelligent posts and the not so intelligent posts. Maker of this forum please look into it. Thx

I'm on another forum - there they use a karma system, so for each post you can rate it + or - karma ---- This then give you an idea of how well the users posts is, eg if he has 100 positive carma and 600 negative Karma its most probably aTroll :jocolor:

Your education, the ability to read is such a great thing. Use it. The more opinions you get to read about the better your understanding of it will be. There's no prize for getting done first! Besides what are you going to do when you're done. Scan some other sites for more useless info?

It aint broke, don't try to fix it.

Ebert, I support your suggestion as well ... to all the people that wouldn't like it simply don't look at it ... I for one appreciate more information on the net, anything to help sift through the vast amounts of data every day.

Garvin, there is a prize for being done quicker, you are able to absorb much more info in a day without wasting your time on rubbish, this system has been used to great effect on other sites.

I suggest we forget like, dislike and karma. I propose a ZEN rating :jocolor:

My wife is an absorber of much information, in fact she spends so much time gathering information she hardly has time to do anything with it. So having more (more in all aspects and or avenues) is a sickness we have been infected with and I try at each corner to fight against it. More is not always better.

This site for the most part is fairly harmless entertainment. Sit back read, enjoy and be entertained. In the end it will all amount to very little or nothing.

Garvin
PS this site does also inform and educate, thanks Justin

If you like/dislike a comment, then take the trouble to say so and why in your own follow up comment.
Anonymous +/- s are lazy and meaningless (to me...).

GarvinJ, some people have time to read 300 posts on a topic concerning 1 route, in my opinion, if u read the 10 best rated comments you will understand most of the story.
BruceT, if everybody takes the effort to comment you have an exponentially useless in-feed of information as you will have to comment each time you read something new meaning the next guy would have to comment and the next and the next and the next.... aka spam.
I like the karma idea, but sometimes favoritism on such a small community will get the best of it. So a smart man can say something stupid or a stupid man can say something smart and you would read the wrong information.

Ebert - yup, I see what you mean. Good point.
Is there then a way to order messages within a topic by rating?

I will support a ZEN rating. The others are all way too subjective, so if implemented, I will boycot it. Who cares about karma if they can have ZEN?
