Bouldering-Durban

Hi I'm from the uk looking for any possible bouldering spots near Durban? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

um..not much up there unfortunately...lots of pretty good sport climbing. I think the closest good bouldering is up in Harrismith area. Also known as Mount Everest :) Really good bouldering in Eastern Cape and Western cape though. Am sure people will be more than happy to take you around if you find yourself in those areas.

Umgeni valley has some bouldering but it hasnt been devloped much as the sport climbing is much better. It is about an hour away from durban

Thanks, so the sport climbing is good though eh. I'm not necessarily looking for developed bouldering areas just anywhere that has a landscape that I could possibly investigate. I assumed that somewhere along the coast there must be boulders??? Umhlanga rocks or saint michaels??

Uvongo is the only one I know of - a few sport routes there as well.
There was a posting on Uvongo - search this site.

Uvongo looks promising! Looks like a beautiful spot as well. Any other recommendations would be great. Thanks for your help peeps.

Umgeni has really awesome bouldering. The forest where the boulder are located in will be hot and sticky at this time of year. There is no guide yet although there are a few established lines and scope for opening new lines. There is also King Solomon's mines. Come to the UKZN OMSH on a Tues/Thurs evening to meet other boulderers. The sport climbing in KZN is far better than the bouldering. Try clipping some bolts.
