Indoor climbing Pta area.

Does anyone have any information about this place called the RAT Centre in Pretoria? Apparently they have a boulder cave and some lead climbing and top rope.

I live in Faerie Glen and I don't know about it. I've only been climbing for 3 years or so, but I'm pretty sure there is no climbing gym in Faerie Glen.

If its in Faerie Glen- I would have had much bigger biceps... There is no such place in my neighbourhood that I know of...

If anyone does find it please send me the street address for a closer investigation.

I'm so giving away my age here....

I see the address they give is Faerie Glenn, but as you know a PO Box & physical location are two completely different things...

I think it was that wall in the Arcadia centre off Beatrix street close to Sunnyside. There was at one stage also a small shop that was converted into a bouldering cave and a separate gear shop too. I believe they are all long gone.

Was that not Spiders in Arcadia?

Why don't you make use of the bouldering cave at the University of Pretoria or at the Barn, which offers great indoor climbing as well. http://www.climbingbarn.com/
I hate this real world place... I'd be more than happy to live out there rather...

Yes, but I think the gear shop may have been called RAT, and I believe they managed the wall & cave. Might be mistaken, I don't know.

The venue is the barn.
RAT refers to the Rope Access Training Centre.
Was used/ co owned by sky riders/praxis rope access company and training.
The address is their po box.
The venue is still there and operating.
Contact Paul at the barn.
