The Ring Route (German Route) at Paarl - chop it or not?

Post by Stu » Thu Jan 19, 2006 7:11 pm

Been feeling a little guilty and with the imminent release of the Paarl guide what is the opinion out there. Not looking to get slammed here folks. It will probably cost me as will have to return the hangers and supply the MCSA with new bolts. So what does everyone think - to chop or not to chop?

Hey Boet, just leave the bolts as is, the route is actually getting some traffic now that it's safely climbable. What's done is done! If someone feels that strongly about it would they have not gotten off ass and done it themselves? Besides it was sanctioned by the MCSA and they apparently know best

I vote that the bolts stay.
Much safer route, no ways I would climb it without the extra protection.
No option of trad, so I see no problem.
