Route on Ostrich Egg Boulder at Mt Everest

Post by Bron » Tue Dec 13, 2005 8:39 am

On the Ostrich Egg Boulder at Mt Everest there is a route immediately to the left (about 1.5m) of Eggstacy (16) and Shells (13). Does anyone know what its name and grade are? We have no idea. I can't seem to find it in the RD or on the net. The route guide starts with Eggstacy and moves right around the boulder, ending with Young Chicks (23). It's not Young Chicks cos there's no ways it was a 23. There are 9 routes on the route guide and 10 bolted on the rock. Does anyone know what our mystery route is? We climbed it this weekend and would really love to know what we did...

Come on all u fly bouldery types, someone must know this route... Its the one where you get up through a right hand semi-layback crack, then up left onto a sloping ledge (ish), and then scamper up the thin but on angle bulge to the top. Its the only climb facing the road, away from the rope playground. Its U-bolted, and didn't look that new. Im guessing about 17-18. If I remember rightly, 5D.
